Anyone involved with arbitration, whether as an advocate, party, scholar, or arbitrator, should become familiar with the standards of ethics that guide the conduct of arbitrators. In employment and commercial arbitration, the governing code usually is the Code of Ethics for Arbitrators in Commercial Disputes. Labor arbitrators, however, are bound by slightly different standards, set forth in the Code of Professional Responsibility for Arbitrators of Labor-Management Disputes.
